Flickering black screen / Grey screen

Since the bot now creates a new user, all your diablo 3 graphics settings are now reset.
It'll be a good thing if you're using a VM to put them back to all low.
If you experience a flickering black screen or a grey screen, that might just be that.
Alternatively, you can take the D3Prefs in C:\Users\ORIGINALUSER\Documents\Diablo III and copy it to C:\Users\NEWUSERMADEBYROSBOT\Documents\Diablo III
The new user made by the bot will be something random like "ACH65DX"

Cannot log in (Error 11023)

See this thread

Black screen (with only sound)

Edit: ComMan: 30/07/2017: with recent windows 10 updates, it seems that some people are experiencing black screen that they can't fix
Here is a solution that has been found: https://www.ros-bot.com/comment/124075#comment-124075

set -vsync -window
in Global settings --> DiabloCmdLineArguments

Note: You may probably need only -window

D3Helper & THUD users

The bot now makes its own user and forces diablo to use it, you need to right click the ros-bot folder (the one with the exe in) and properties then security tab. Copy down the new randomly generated user and add it to the D3Helper folder

Aren't the security options inherited by the subfolder too?
If that's the case, just move/install your D3Helper and Thud folders to the RoS-BoT folder and the security settings should apply. Even easier for those that aren't familliar with security settings.

If you want to use your already existing limited user, open RosBotGlobalSettings.ini in C:\Users\USER\Documents\RoS-BoT and edit those 2 lines with your user and password

LocalD3User =
LocalD3UserPass =

If you're wondering how to use the new master profiles system, head over the News, they made a nice little guide for it.

No characters at character selection screen

If you don't see your characters, don't panic, it's alright.
It means you're not on the proper region, you can change your region in game by opening the options menu then going into account.
You can also change it in the bnet launcher under diablo 3, right above the blue play button

The system cannot find the file specified

If you get that error "The system cannot find the file specified."

Click here and read ComMan posts

If your bot isn't avoiding anything:

  1. Click on the Configure button for Avoidance
  2. Under General you will have two options;
  3. Turn AvoidAffixes to True, if needed;
  4. Turn AvoidMonster to True, if needed;
  5. Click on the Save button. You're done.

If your bot isn't entering FastMode during Greater Rifts:

  1. Select the Rift sequence;
  2. Click on the Configure button for Sequence;
  3. Under Greater Rifts options;
  4. Turn FastGreaterRift to True;
  5. Click on the Save button. You're done.

Language

Not the right language?

  1. Start Diablo III.
  2. On the login screen, press ESC to pull up the Game Menu, then select Options.
  3. Click on the Account section and use the Language Selection dropdown to choose your language.
  4. Click OK. Diablo III will restart.

If it doesn't work,

  1. Close the bot
  2. Close Diablo 3
  3. Open RosBotGlobalSettings.ini in C:\Users\USER\Documents\RoS-BoT and add -locale enUS to DiabloCmdLineArguments
  4. Relaunch the bot

Change enUS to any of these codes for the corresponding language

German = deDE
English (British) = enGB
English (SEA) = enSG
English = enUS
Spanish = esES
Spanish (Latin American) = esMX
French = frFR
Italian = itIT
Korean = koKR
Polish = plPL
Brazilian Portuguese = ptBR
Russian = ruRU
Chinese (Traditional) = zhTW

If it doesn't work,

  1. Close the bot
  2. Delete the Agent folder in C:\ProgramData\Battle.net
  3. Launch the game via the launcher, close the game, close the launcher
  4. Relaunch the bot

Diablo III doesn't launch

Open RosBotGlobalSettings.ini in C:\Users\USER\Documents\RoS-BoT and write down the values of LocalD3User & LocalD3UserPass.
Once it's done, go back to the desktop and shift right-click Diablo 3's shortcut and select Run as different user.
Enter the User & Password of the ini file.

Alternatively, write down the same user as above and head to C:\Users\ORIGINALUSER\Documents\Diablo III and copy D3Prefs.txt
Then head to C:\Users\RANDOMROSBOTUSER\Documents\Diablo III and paste the D3Prefs.txt

The game is stuck at the splash screen

The splash screen is the Reaper of Souls loading image that appears when you launch the game.
If it gets stuck there for a long time and the game never opens, you might want to try that.

Alternatively you can try to scroll up until Diablo III doesn't launch and try the solutions there

The directory name is invalid

If you're getting that error

Here's Obscu784's solution

That means that you probably have your Diablo 3 directory somewhere under C:\Users\ORIGINALUSER\. What that means is that the bot will try to run the game as the limited user but the limited user doesn't have access to the files of the original user and won't be able to launch the game(or at least that's what I think).

Solution:
Pretty simple,
1)move your D3 directory somewhere under C:\ that is not under the originalusers' directory.
2)Launch Ros-bot once and the bot will ask to extract the scene files.
3)Guide Ros-bot to your new D3 directory and let it extract.
4)Reboot Ros-bot and you're done.

As I reading thru answers and problems in this thread. People whos using Microsoft Account instead local account (windows 8 and up). Should have many issues with ros-bot, local accounts are pretty burden from them in Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC > must click on tiny text The person I want to add doesn't have and email address > Add a user without a Microsoft account

Check http://www.howtogeek.com/226540/how-to-create-a-new-local-user-account-in-windows-10/

Microsoft simply hijack local account and switch it to microsoft account after 1st use of Micrososft store. If they want rever back from Microsoft Account ot local account should follow this http://www.howtogeek.com/230543/how-to-revert-your-windows-10-account-to-a-local-one-after-the-windows-store-hijacks-it/

Did anything else change? I was running 70 grifts with my DMO wiz all day long.  As soon as I changed over to 2.1 my bot was on the path to failing the grift.  I watched it briefly and noticed that it wasn't even picking up the purple orbs when it killed a rift guardian.  I checked my avoidance and fastmode settings and they are all the same.  Is there some setting I am missing? Sorry if this was addressed in another post but I didn't see one.

I don't know if something could have broke that
Keep watching it, could be bad RNG

If it still happens I suggest to issue a new report in bot support

Ros-bot will close diablo if it's already open, then it'll start its own instance of diablo using its own randomly generated user.

The user you made from another guide is now useless, ros-bot handles it by itself now
If you're a D3H or THUD user, refer to my post at the top

delmarote, issue a new report in the bot support section

Maybe running RoS-BoT.exe as admin could help?

I wonder if leaving the "RoS-BoT" into the process description is really wise. Feels like it's completely voiding the purpose of having the process name randomized.

When I try to launch Rosbot, it says "Diablo III must be launched". So I have to launch the game manually, then I can start the bot, error message but it launches fine and start botting.
But I didn't have the region selection, my graphics settings were the same (minimum), and it seems Diablo/Rosbot are running with the main windows account (administrator)...

And also, Rosbot doesn't close D3 if it's already open.

Well I dont understand at all discussion. I am trying to use 2.01 bot version. I already figure it out, that when you are about to use bot game crashes or shut down immedietaly. when I start ros-bot it also generetes some weird exe file, didnt notice some1 mentioned that so far.
once ros-bot exe is clicked, i see the loging screen, but no chars are displayed. if I am doing that manually everything works ;/
i also put all windows rights to the folder with bot that didnnt helped to. i need assistance

just for information reasons: once RB has created that user u can copy your d3-settings file into its documents ( i'm saying that cause maybe some ppl still wanna set their HardwareClass from 4 ( my standard setting ) to 1 or just copy their old settings without changing it into the game )

If your bot isn't avoiding anything:

  1. Click on the Configure button for Avoidance
  2. Under General you will have two options;
  3. Turn AvoidAffixes to True, if needed;
  4. Turn AvoidMonster to True, if needed;
  5. Click on the Save button. You're done.

If your bot isn't entering FastMode during Greater Rifts:

  1. Select the Rift sequence;
  2. Click on the Configure button for Sequence;
  3. Under Greater Rifts options;
  4. Turn FastGreaterRift to True;
  5. Click on the Save button. You're done.

 I already figure it out, that when you are about to use bot game crashes or shut down immedietaly.

The new version of the bot will close your game client before launching, it's to enforce their new protection method. It is not a crash but intended.

 when I start ros-bot it also generetes some weird exe file, didnt notice some1 mentioned that so far.

The new weird exe file is created to change the process name of RoS-BoT each time you start it. It's an added protection method and is intended.

once ros-bot exe is clicked, i see the loging screen, but no chars are displayed. if I am doing that manually everything works ;/

It's because your D3 client didn't connect to the good server. Rude explain briefly how to do this in the first post. Here's the Step by Step procedure:

  1. When the game client launched by the bot is open, go into the Options;
  2. Go to the Account tab;
  3. On the right side of the Account tab, you will see a drop down menu named Server Region Selection;
  4. Change the Server Region Selection to the one you were previously playing on;
  5. Apply the changes and you're done.

i also put all windows rights to the folder with bot that didnnt helped to. i need assistance

Do not do that. The folder need to be in a restricted state for the new user. Remove all rights for the new randomly generated user.

Is there a trick to getting it to work on 10? I got the new user on my VM that is running 7, but I can't get it on my normal computer. I've tried running as admin, and compatibility mode for 7 and 8.

Nope, no errors, I'm just not seeing the random user name in my security tab, it loads up and lets me connect with no problem. I wanted to check the user name thing worked before starting up the game, but I'm only seeing the normal users on this machine, but my VM with 7 I can see a random user name.

Weird. You should open up a new support thread with all the required information. It could be another issue with win 10.

I think some people said that both the game and the bot was running under their main user so it could be a frequent occurence.

Just a question since im in the middle of it; if I want to play by myself again, can I just launch it straight out of BNet or does rosbot actually need to be on but not 'active' per se?

What I'm trying to say is, does the program need to be on all the time from now on?

Aha.ha

If you're not running the bot, it doesn't need to be on, no.

If you plan on running any 3rd party software while playing manually, you just need to make sure those tools are "protected".

I just wanted to add that you can exit the game after the first start, browse to the user documents folder that you usually use and copy the d3prefs to the new user's documents folder that the bot created. Then start the bot again and the game will be back to the rez and all settings it had previously.

That information is not saved on ros-bot servers but locally on your computer
The bot now launches the game itself, with your account name saved (the checkbox at the game menu) and your password saved in the bot settings, you can simply start the bot right away and have it login for you

The bot uses a new user, you'll find it under c:\users\
It'll be some random stuff like "GADH414M"
Paste your d3prefs settings from your main user to the d3prefs of that user (in c:\user\NEWUSER\documents\diablo III

I've tried all proposed solutions but Ros-Bot still won't start Diablo III. Tried giving all permissions to this new user for all D3 folders but it didn't help. Tried moving D3 game folder out from C:\Program Files (x86)\ but it didn't help. Deleted all RB folders and did clean install - didn't help. I'm using Win7 Pro x64 SP1.

Not getting any errors and I can see Diablo III.exe (under new user) in Windows Task Manager but it's using only 120K memory (if I start D3 manually it's using over 1000000K memory):

Same. The exe is not blocked and Ros-Bot runs without any errors. However, Diablo 3 never starts like it should and therefore bot will be forever stuck at Initializing when started.

I'm having a separate issue where the bot doesn't create the new random user on my laptop, and doesn't launch D3 as a result of that.  Bot works on desktop just fine though.
