Hi

Due to some issues during upgrade from W7/W8 to W10, some of you may get an error when starting the bot: "Cannot find specified file"
In your globalsettings.ini file you will see:

LocalD3User =
LocalD3UserPass =

This is due to missing registry keys

  1. Just launch regedit
  2. Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion"
  3. Just right click on the CurrentVersion "section" in the Registry Editor and select New > String Value
  4. Name the string value RegisteredOwner
  5. Repeat 3 and 4 to create another string called RegisteredOrganization
  6. After you're done adding each entry (RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization) edit their values. You can use your username and company name respectively.

This is how it should look at the end
(well you don't have to call yourself Bob if you don't want to)

This will probably solve most of the "Cannot find specified file" issues for W10 users.

It won't solve "Access Denied" Errors

edit: scratch that what i posted, i understood a lil bit more of the steps, and i got it working. phew :D

Hi,

I have done everything in this post and many others since the release of 2.01, The bot works on my PC but on my VM it does not i get this error. http://prntscr.com/a83jcz  I done everything And in my globalsettings.ini http://prntscr.com/a83jse And the RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization were already in the Registry Editor. I deleted RoS-Bot completly (Including files in Doccuments) and redownloaded and its still happening, Secruity tab of RoS-Bot folder http://prntscr.com/a83ks5 The bot opens, I click start, i get the Error along with Diablo 3 must be launched! http://prntscr.com/a83l89  So i launch Diablo 3 and then click start on the bot, D3 closes and then i get both of these errors at the same time(i dont speak any other language other than english so i dont know what this means) http://prntscr.com/a83m6v and after these errors nothing happens. I have tried everything please help :(.

Thanks in Advance.

I've been running like this for 48 hours and just noticed the error in the back ground becuase the bot runs regardless of the error.

Is this error related to the protection?  #gulp

edit:

oh and access denied is probably resolved by running as administrator... I think you can force that with something like this..

REM  --> Check for permissions
>nul 2>&1 "%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\cacls.exe" "%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\config\system"

REM --> If error flag set, we do not have admin.
if '%errorlevel%' NEQ '0' (
    echo Requesting administrative privileges...
    goto UACPrompt
) else ( goto gotAdmin )

:UACPrompt
    echo Set UAC = CreateObject^("Shell.Application"^) > "%temp%\getadmin.vbs"
    set params = %*:"=""
    echo UAC.ShellExecute "cmd.exe", "/c %~s0 %params%", "", "runas", 1 >> "%temp%\getadmin.vbs"

    "%temp%\getadmin.vbs"
    del "%temp%\getadmin.vbs"
    exit /B

:gotAdmin
path\rosbot.exe

I use this to install every patch onto a PC in one go without annoying popups asking for admin rights.

I have had this problem for awhile now unable to use my prem key since 2.01 came out. I added the registery keys in there and now instead of it saying "Starting Diablo III" it says "Initializing RoS-BoT"... and is stuck there. Those lines where it says

LocalD3User =
LocalD3UserPass =

Should I put anything after these? What do I put for LocalD3User if so my email address?

Hi there

Initially i got the first error box as shown at the top, but after i have added the 2 strings another error box pops up: http://postimg.org/image/5s1xv3xvv/
and after i press OK, it shuts down d3.

I have tried moving the d3 folder and reinstalling the bot from scratch but its the same deal. It worked perfectly fine before i got the lastest version of the bot, and d3 had updated.

any help is appreciated.

best regards

PS. i have windows 10

What value should I enter for RegisteredOwner?

My windows account username?

My rosbot account username?

My diablo 3 account username?

HELP!

After I did as OP suggested, each time I start the bot (.exe) it closes the game and restarts it and it asks me to log in game. After my credidentials, I see that I have no chars and must create new ones.

After I close the bot, restart battle.net and game without bot, everything is ok.

What should I do?

Switch region. You were loged in in wrong region.

I got a different error.
This always pops up everytime I run RosBot. However, it will continue botting thereafter.
Not sure what it was looking for.

And when I did the above regedit thing, it simply closes up D3 client. So I undid the regedit and contends with an error pop up.

It appears to me that this is related to a certain Windows 10 installation method.
On an older machine where I installed Win10 manually, this error does not occur.
But on a new machine with Win10 preinstalled, this error props up consistently.
Really frustrated botting without the anti-warden feature :(

Is there any user crested when you launch the bot? Is this user referenced in /ros-bot/globalsettings.ini file?

If there is no user referenced, you can try to create one manually and reference it in globalsettings.

Also make sure you didn't unzip ros-bot files in the game directory

I already created a user but still no go.
My only other cause of action on that machine is a clean W10 install.
its taking some time, i need to backup all those files elsewhere first.
but for the time being, Im happy botting on the older machine which came with SSD.

I used random username and passwort ..
LocalD3User = bass
LocalD3UserPass = bass1

Or I have to create and register anywhere a account and link it in the globalsettings ??

It gives a german support maybe ?

Ok

You can create the user by hand in this case
For some odd reason, your OS is blocking the bot when creating the user

In the Windows user management tool, create a local user, with a password (do not create microsoft linked account)
Report the new user credentials in you global settings file

yes a create a new user with a email adresse and a passwort ...

Do you mean that you did not check the following option:

"Sign in without a Microsoft account(not recommended)"

This will get you into trouble, create noather account that is not linked to Microsoft

Edit: Btw, did you edit the two registry keys as suggested in this thread ?

I was having problems with D3 not launching after starting the bot. I did not get any error message saying 'cannot find specified file', but this registry fix actually solved this issue for me. Thank you :)
